External and Internal Blinds

Ozsun offers separate ranges of quality blinds for both external and internal applications.  The advantage of an external blind is that it keeps the sun off the glass and is far more effective at reducing heat than an internal blind.  Internal blinds are generally more economical as they do not need to made of the same heavy duty components to cope with the extremes of climate that external blinds require.

Straight Drop Verandah Blind

The Straight Drop Verandah Blind is another simple traditional type of external blind. Retracted by rope and pulley and extended by gravity.

It has no arms and when fully extended it is held down by straps to prevent it swinging in the wind.

When the rope is pulled to retract the blind, the fabric rolls around a tube at the base of the blind.

The Straight Drop Verandah Blind is ideal to use where it is not possible to fit arms for a standard awning i.e. on the edge of a pergola especially where the top fixing position slopes from one side to the other. Its main function is to protect against low sun angles i.e. east or west facing but it is also used as a privacy screen.   Specifications: Maximum width: 5000mm Maximum drop: 3150mm

 

 

Clear PVC Straight Drop Verandah Blind

A variation of the Straight Drop Verandah Blind is the Clear PVC Blind.

It is best used to keep alfresco dining areas warm in winter and dry in rainy periods.

PVC is also available in a range of colours, although clear is most popular as it retains a view of the outside. The Clear PVC Straight Drop is popular as a wind break in the alfresco dining areas of restaurants and verandahs where it is often fitted with zips each side.   Specifications: Maximum width: 5000mm Maximum drop: 3150mm

 

Shop Blind

Another variation of the Straight Drop Verandah Blind is the Shop Blind which hangs down from the edge of the metal awning and is contained by "J" hooks.

 

Internal Blinds

Operation   Ozsun roller blinds can be either chain control, spring operation or motorised.  They can be installed on brackets or within a cassette pelmet.   Ozsun roller blinds are normally under-rolled.  This reduces the gap between the glass and the fabric and helps to reduce heat gain in the room.  They can also be over-rolled with the roller concealed behind the fabric, this gives clearance, for example where the blind needs to clear a door handle.

Venetians are available in 25mm (Slimline), 16mm (Micro) and 50mm (Traditional).   The colour range is extensive.  Slimline 25mm also have a range of perforated slats.   Hold down pins are an option on Ozsun Venetians and are beneficial for areas where windows and doors may be opened.  They steady the blind and stop it blowing in the breeze or banging when the door is opened.

The slats, facia and bottom rail are all red cedar and are finished in a clear lacquer.  The slats are graded as much as possible so that you can choose between light-medium or medium-dark.    The headbox is steel, coloured to tone with the slat colour and is covered with a re cedar facia.  The facia is fitted on site with clips to facilitate removal should the blinds need to be removed for window cleaning or painting.   The pull cords and tilt cords are colour coordinated.   The maximum size for which operation is gauranteed is four square metres due to the weight of the blind.   Cedar Venetian Blinds will be more functional if they are split to coincide with window mullions.  Blinds can be made with a common headbox but if the total width is greater than 3600mm there will be a join in the timber facia.

 

 

 

Pleated Venetians   Ozsun Pleated Blinds offer a range of effects depending on the fabric chosen.  They vary from translucent fabrics which keep your view to blackout fabrics which give you privacy at night.  all fabrics come in a large range of colours.   Ozsun Pleated Blinds can be adapted to most window types.   The Ozsun Pleated Blind is also ideal for skylights.   All hardware and cords are colour coordinated to the fabric.

Ozsun Verticals are a very practical and decorative window furnishing.   Ozsun Verticals offer a great deal fo flexibility in light control.  They may be tilted to any angle to regulate the amount of light  entering the room while still retaining a degree of privacy.   Many of different types of fabric are available that offer a range of light and heat control characteristics.   There are two ways that a vertical may be mounted:   Face fix onto a vertical surface, such as a wall or window facia, or   Top fix to a horizontal surface, such as a ceiling or window frame.

 

Roman Blinds   Ozsun Roman Blinds draw clear of your view by day, and offer total privacy when drawn at night. Fit them high above the window to create a dramatic illusion of height and elegance.   A clever choice of colour scheme can also help to make your room appear larger.
