Spandau Cassette Folding Arm Awning

The Spandau Cassette folding arm awning is made in Germany.  It is a close fitting cassette awning designed to fit snugly against a wall.  Although only 20cm high by 20cm deep, the excellent design of the cassette incorporates a 40 x 40 mm square bar that gives great strength and versatility for installation.  For example if the awning is to be mounted onto rafters or studs the mounting brackets are not restricted to being positioned exactly at the arms or the ends of the awning.

As well as its compact appearance, the awning has many functional design features including a lip at the top edge of the cassette to prevent dew and light rain from leaving annoying dust trails on the front profile of the awning.  An extruded aluminium fabric cover shell conceals the fabric roll even when the awning is open.  The front profile incorporates a double hollow chamber for increased rigidity and an integral rain gutter.  In light rain water drains off at the side through concealed drain holes in the end caps.

The high spring tension provided by the triple springs ensures that the awning fabric is taut and will not rest on the arm joints.  Many awning manufactures use marine grade cables in the hinges of the folding arms.

The Spandau incorporates heavy duty aircraft grade cables which have more strength and importantly far more resilience to fatigue failure.
